Well, today afternoon I just had a meeting in kindergarten with my colleagues and the boss. And she told us something that I feel is really useful for the parents. She just attends a seminar yesterday, and here’s what she told us after the seminar.

She said, the roles of the parents should not be the same all the time. I mean, daddy should not be the one who always showing kids his fierce face while mommy is the one who always pampered child the most. Sometimes, parents need to exchange the roles. You don’t wish your kids scared of you all the time right? You also hope they will tell you everything right? Then, EXCHANGE THE ROLE !
She also mentions that do not wait until you are old then only cherish the moment with the kids. You might not be late yet, but there are something missing part in their early childhood memories already. Try to communicate with them since they are young ! Always talk to them, they like you to tell them different stories.

So, show your love to them ! Do not wait until you lost the moment then only regret !
A child only needs a simple thing from you -- LOVE =)

Classroom.

School is a second house for students. It same with child care centre, nursery or kindergarten is a second house for children as well. We actually spend few hours at school in a day. Environment is it will affect the learning progress of children?
Yes, we feel that the environment of the classroom is very important. We should maintaining safe and healthy classroom for young children.

Maintaining a safe classroom is to be able to set up and to reduce and prevent injuries. The arrangement of space is important for children to move around and play such as different learning areas, the number of children and so on. We can provide appropriate equipment for different age group of children. We should provide no toxic and clean materials for children to play. We also need to note all of the blind spot so we are able to observe children.

Be able to set up and maintaining a healthy classroom that promotes good health and nutrition. We can encourage children to follow basic health and nutrition practice such as physical exercise, rest, sleep, good ventilation, a well balance diet and maintenance of personal hygiene.

We can establish a good learning environment for young children if have a safe and healthy classroom. Children will feel secure and enjoy in this environment so they can learn the best.

What is PLAY?

Play is a way to learn. It uses to learn new thing. Children can easily to learn and understand new concept.

 

Play is a freedom to do what children like or say what they like.

 

Play is a method for young children to explore and to develop their development skills such as Physical, Intellectual, Language, Emotion and Social (PILES).

 

Play is the best natural experiences and learning experience for young children.

 

Play can be fun, crazy and humorous.

 

Play is the way for children to engage themselves in their environment.

 

Play also is something without limitation but may have some rules.

 

Play is a method to resolve conflicts.

 

Play is a way for children to interact with their friends.

We believe the purpose of education is young children learning through play. We believe that children learn best when they are taught under certain condition and in certain ways.
Children should be enjoy, have fun and have a happy childhood.

Parenting.

Parenting is an evolving experience. We can actually feel that parents are looking at the world with a different perspective. They want the very best for their children. Thus, parentig is it important? We feel that good parenting is important for young children.

First, patience is the most important ingredient for parenting. Sometimes, children would do something wrong and they do not know that they are doing wrong. Thus, we should teach and tell them the right way but not scold them.

Next, making a point clear is important for children. We should explain to the children of what they can do and what is right so that they won’t feel confused. We need to be firm in ideals but not aggressive.

Besides that, parents should make time and enjoy parenting. They might schedule time for play time, study and a trip with their children. They really need to spend their time to care and talk with children because nowaday parents are busy on their working.

In addition, children are always observe and imitated what we did. Thus, we should be a good role model to show honesty. We must keep up the promise that we have made and don’t just simply make a promise which you can’t do it. It will hurt the children if you can't make your promise.

Last but not least, we can always give an opportunity for children to explore and experience by themselves. Let them to choose what they want to do and we just guide them but not help them to do everything.

The memories.

There's a lot of memories pop out from our mind after watching this video.
Last time we were the one who play those toys and ate those stuff. But now, we already can't find some of them. This is our early childhood memory, we miss it.
We are wonder, is it after 10years time, the children will view back to their childhood memory with only having Iphone, Laptop, PSP ?

* Sorry, we only found it in Mandarin version. Just take a look on those toys and foods. =))

Well, this article is actually talking about technology related to young children.

We feel that nowadays children are different compare to last time. If you ask a child what you want for your birthday, the child will properly answer: A phone! Or PSP please? They are getting more and more into the technology stuff. From what we can see, nowadays even a primary school child is having a phone. And they are bringing it to school and show to their friends.
Back to our time, we were still not so close to technology yet, I remember I asked my mom to buy a phone for me when I was in standard 5, but she refused to buy as she said we were too small to have it.
So yeah, is it the parents also changed as time goes by? We are wonder seriously. They are willing to buy expensive phone or game players for the children, we are not saying that is not good, but is it necessary to do so?
What for a little child use an Iphone or Blackberry?

Hmmm.... back to the topic. Is alright if the child is born in a rich family, their parents can afford for what they want. But, how about those who are from poorer families? Do they need to bet their parents to buy for them as well? The child might feel he will be neglected by his friends if he doesn’t have one. Hence, he will refuse to go to school or have low self-esteem. It kind of effect the child’s in their growing process.

Even technology have those negative effects, there still have some positive effect which really benefits the children. Most of the school are having computer as their one of the formal class, children can actually learn the basic about computer. Besides that, teachers also can use the computer as one of their additional tools in teaching. Children will learn more and better with those graphics, photos, and even videos. They also will not get bored easily as they are so interested in it and can focus for a long time.

Undeniable, technology will be part of their life in future. It’s getting more and more important for everyone. Some of us even can’t survive if our phone is not around with us for only few hours? Agree? *but we can! Belief it or not? *winks**

In our opinion, even technology really makes our life easier, but try not to too rely on it. Especially for young children, they should expose to the nature more often. Instead of getting him a new gadgets, why don’t just bring him out for trip or have a walk in garden?
We believe they will learn more which doesn’t appear in their gadgets!

Q1: What's about this blog ?

A: Basically, it's about Early Childhood Education, and we will talk about technology related to children, ECE as well as share some experiences or recipes of handling or teaching children with you guys.

A: We are currently 18-19years old. Not so young, not so old !



Q3: Are you doing something which is related to Children ?

A: Yeah, we are currently studying Diploma Early Childhood Education @Segi College and to be honest this is one of our assignments which need to be hand in to lecturer.



Q4: What's mean by LVKIDS91 ?

A: Actually LV is a short form for LOVE, both of us have the passion in this field and we love kids ! so LOVE(LV) continue with the 'Kids', and 91 is the year we born =)
And tadaaaa, that's how LVKIDS91 came from !
*tell in silently, one of the owner also like the LV brand and it become one of the reason the name came from as well. Guess WHO's that ? xD
